For this semester, things were tougher than it usually is due to this pandemic caused by the COVID 19 virus that all of us are experiencing and because of this, Taylor's university decided to shift their lectures and tutorials online.

For our first assignment, we were all given the task to do some digital site exploration since we were all quarantined back at home, we have a limitation to all these resources and research about our site.

Given the situation, we were all solely relying on the internet and our friends who have been to Jao Tim.

I researched a lot on the art and culture of the site and finding out what happens around the site throughout the day by watching a lot of youtube videos of the site, exploring through google earth and as well as asking my friends who had been there before. Moreover, I also edited a video to compile my findings and my progression alongside my friend's video compilation which I helped to edit.

As for project 2, we are all given the time to research about the forgotten culture of Malaysia and then proceed to use our creativity to produce a conceptual model that represents the culture. At the start, I chose to do Wau making as it is a forgotten culture in Malaysia. However, I felt disconnected from the malay culture hence why I chose to do lantern making as my subject matter as I have a good childhood connection to lanterns. It takes me back in time to when I was taught to make a lantern in primary school as a fun project.

After that, we moved on to assignment 2 where we are all given the time to research about the forgotten culture of Malaysia and then proceed to use our creativity to produce a conceptual model that represents the culture. At the start, I chose to do Wau making as it is a forgotten culture in Malaysia. However, I felt that there isn't any connection between me and the malay culture hence why I chose to do lantern making as my subject matter in the end.

Overall, I think that this online learning experience is good as it taught me how to be more self-disciplined and I have learned to make good use of the online resources around me. It was truly a new experience for all of us to actually explore the spaces online instead of going to the site physically and it has helped me to be more observant and brave to step out of my comfort zone in order to get the info I needed through my connections with people that I know. I have also learned to appreciate

I have learned to be more independent as well in terms of research and producing the 3D perspectives. I see myself improving a lot for this semester and I really appreciate the guidance that I have received from my lecturers and my friends.
