DIGITAL IMAGING
For my digital imaging class, my lecturer Mr.Jeffery taught us the basics of illustrator in our first class. Mr.Jeffery gave us a task to create a logo using our own name in class. This is the outcome of my work after learning new tools that adobe illustrator offers.

For digital imaging, it is an integrated module with Design Studio 3. My classmates and I were given a task to create an interactive e-book. So, we were split into pairs. I was paired up with Tan Xi Chen and we first planned out the number of pages, roughly design our book covers and discuss the content we would like to input into the e-book. Here is a photo of the rough discussion we had together.

After the discussion, Chen and I have decided to work on all sorts of paper crafts for the children as it is easily found at where they are at. We were also told by our lecturer to each design the book cover individually and let our classmates vote the design when we meet for class again. I started designing the book cover on my own and it took me hours to get inspired to create a book cover as the target audience is Orang Asli children. My designs are usually for teenagers and young adults. So, this is a very big challenge for me as I don't usually create artworks and posters for young kids. This is the drafts I produced.

I ended up using the 2nd draft to be presented to my class for them to vote. The work that I produced was commented as something was hipster and not suitable for children while my group mate's work is suitable for children but it doesn't reflect on our topic which is arts and craft. So, we were told to combine our work somehow and unsure that our book cover is good for children. So, this is the outcome of my book cover.

The one of the left is the first draft after the ones that were rejected and the one on the right is the one that my group member and I settled on officially. I decided to change the blues to orange as I find the colour orange more vibrant and exciting compared to the blue. So, I changed the fonts and colour to make it more suitable for the target we have which is the kids. So, my groupmate and I also decided to work on the pages ourselves(the content in the e-book). We split the pages within ourselves and then we work on it on our own while ensuring that we use the same font and style. Here is what I worked on for the content.

Initially, Xi Chen and I wanted to do 20 pages for the e-book but unfortunately, it is pretty hectic for us if we were to do so as we have 5 other modules to work on. So, we ended up settling for 10 pages instead. Unfortunately, my laptop can't handle the gifs I tried making on my laptop as it crashes every time I tried doing it. But thankfully, Xi Chen's laptop is workable and so, I sent him all the pages I made and told him to do the animation to make our e-book interactive.
